Anna West is
the name used by Jackie Waddle to write contemporary romantic fiction. Jackie
was born in the village of Lytchett Matravers in Dorset. She now lives in the
market town of Tavistock in Devon, and is involved with creative writing in the
community. She began writing when her two sons started school. Breaking New
Ground is her first novel.
'Breaking New Ground' reflects Jackie's love of peaceful gardens. The novel examines friendships between the characters
in Orchard Court. It also looks at how luck and fate can shape all of our lives.
Jackie will be visiting various locations for author talks and
book signings. She would be pleased to chat with you about novel-writing. Most people know the saying, 'everyone has a book inside them', but how do all those wandering thoughts get onto the page?
Breaking New Ground, the story...
When Adele Parker wins a TV competition to have
her garden revamped she can hardly believe her luck.
The good luck grows. Her neighbours join her and they all cash in on
an unexpected opportunity.
It’s an offer that promises pleasant changes for everyone, but will it unearth
more than they bargained for?
And more than anything can a garden nurture fulfilment for all the residents of
Orchard Court?
BREAKING NEW GROUND is available from Thursday 14th February 2008 in

Under the Bonsai Trees
By Anna West
Millie Bray
is a happy-go-lucky bank clerk who is always ready to help anyone.
Unfortunately, her friendly liaison with garden centre owner, Richard Greenway
is not progressing as she calculated. Millie is hoping to change Richard’s
philandering nature, but there are many obstacles standing in her way; the most
annoying being his intermittent young girlfriend, Yolanda. The story starts with
an unexpected holiday in the Greek Islands, but what goes on later under the
bonsai trees is even more out of the blue!
